“We spend a lot of time finding a beautiful old brick street, doing a wet down, lighting up the whole thing, and track the camera for this one-take. And when we had everything in place, I realised we didn’t have the actor in place for the actual door phone.

We had spend all the energy on planning the technicalities and rehearsing with the lead. But someone from the art department quickly volunteered on the spot, and she wound up doing all the lines as the woman in the door phone.”
